1. we now have 15 commonwealth's attorneys not prosecuting the awb and aw carry prohibitions. we are starting a sheriff's list, too!
The Amherst County Commonwealth Attorney, W. Lyle Carver, has announced that he is honoring his oath to protect and defend the Constitution by not prosecuting the unconstitutional “assault firearm” ban and carry prohibition!
His statement is here.
Here is the current list of Commonwealth Attorneys who are honoring their oath of office to protect the good people in their jurisdictions from unconstitutional infringements on their right to keep and bear arms. Remember that they stood up for the Constitution and gun owners when they are up for reelection:
- W. Lyle Carver, Amherst County
- Leslie M. Fleet, Appomattox County
- Daniel J. Farnsworth Jr., Charlotte County
- Matthew E. Bass, Clarke County
- W. Eric Branscom, Floyd County
- John L. Lumpkins Jr., Goochland County
- Chapman L. Good, Sr., Page County
- Dayna K. Bobbitt, Patrick County
- Rob Cerullo, Powhatan County
- Justin L. Griffith, Pulaski County
- Kyle Kilgore, Scott County
- Elizabeth H. Cooper, Shenandoah County
- Phillip Blevins, Smyth County
- Ryan Mehaffey, Spotsylvania County
- John S. Bell, Warren County
Originally, I was focused only on Commonwealth Attorneys who were honoring their oath. But that was a mistake, as sheriffs are extremely important, as well. If a Commonwealth Attorney decides to prosecute the unconstitutional AWB and AW carry laws, the sheriff might decide not to arrest anyone for violating those laws. In that case, it doesn’t matter if the Commonwealth Attorney would prosecute, as there would be no one who had been arrested to prosecute in the first place.
The following eight sheriffs have publicly made statements that they are honoring their oath of office, just like the Commonwealth Attorneys above. There could be other sheriffs that I am not aware of. Remember that they stood up for the Constitution and gun owners when they are up for reelection:
Appomattox County Sheriff, Robert N. Richardson
Clark County Sheriff, Travis M. Sumption
Hanover County Sheriff, Gregory W. Six
Louisa County Sheriff, Donald Lowe
Powhatan County Sheriff, Brad W. Nunnally Jr.
Scott County Sheriff, Jeff B. Edds
Shenandoah County Sheriff, Timothy C. Carter
Warren County Sheriff, Crystal M. Cline
Honorable mention: The Bedford County Sheriff and Commonwealth Attorney, and the Culpeper County Sheriff and Commonwealth Attorney, put out statements on protecting the RKBA, but it fell short of specifically talking about the AWB and AW carry prohibition:

3. atricles on sheriffs and prosecutors not enforcing new awb

Sheriffs and prosecutors fight back and say they'll REFUSE to enforce assault weapons ban on July 1 as Virginians rush to stockpile guns

4. palmetto armory teaming with xcal to help virginians with awb
Palmetto Armory has stepped up to help VCDL raise funds in the past.
In this case, which is not VCDL related, they are bringing two pallets of AR-15s and other things to XCal in Loudoun on June 27 so gun owners can get their hands on them before July 1. No waiting on shipping, as the guns will be in the store and ready to go.
There are other gun dealers, such as Middletown Firearms, having a special day on June 27 to sell AR-15s and other items.
All the gun dealers in Virginia are working to have AR-15s available for purchase before the deadline. If you don’t live near XCal, check with your local dealer for what they have in stock. Whatever store you go to, don’t dilly-dally!
5. article on 3d printed firearms that focuses on michael bloomberg and his astroturf moms demand action
We know Michael Bloomberg’s uses his wealth to undermine the right to keep and bear arms. We know Bloomberg is a maniacal control-freak.
He is also frightened of gun owners.
In 2007, VCDL picketed a building in Washington, DC, where Bloomberg was hosting a Mayors Against Illegal Guns event. Once Bloomberg learned of the unarmed, but sign-bearing activists outside the building, he summarily moved the conference to another, undisclosed location!
That same year, Bloomberg was at Dulles Hyatt having a small press conference with an anti-gun Republican senator – Jeanmarie Devolites-Davis. Again, we picketed the hotel. To avoid going by the picketing gun owners, Bloomberg’s motorcade left the hotel and drove the wrong way down a road! (Devolites-Davis deservedly lost her election that year to moderate Democrat Chap Petersen. She tried to run for Lt. Governor a few years later but lost the primary.)
We know that Everytown for Gun Safety and Moms Demand Action are astroturf, not grassroots. And it turns out that Bloomberg has his fingers in the attempt to require software that blocks 3D printers from making firearms or parts of firearms, too.
This video does a deep dive into how Bloomberg finances his gun control efforts and how he is the actual driving force, the “man behind the curtain,” if you will. He makes it seem like the calls for gun control are an organic activism movement, but nothing could be further from the truth. His money provides the paychecks for the “activism,” it is not organic.
