2. PISTOL BRACE RULE IS BACK UP IN THE AIR

In a recent court case, the BATFE said they are still enforcing the pistol brace rule in some instances. That has created a firestorm, as gun owners now are unsure if their previously legal brace could get them in legal trouble.

3. PURPOSELY CONFUSING WORDING IN THE REDISTRICTING BALLOT ITEM

The wording on the redistricting ballot item that is currently being voted on at the polls says:

“Should the Constitution of Virginia be amended to allow the General Assembly to temporarily adopt new congressional districts to restore fairness in the upcoming elections, while ensuring Virginia’s standard redistricting process resumes for all future redistricting after the 2030 census?”

As one expects from gun-controllers, you must reverse what they say to understand their intentions. “Restoring fairness in the upcoming elections” means that the intent of the redistricting amendment is to remove fairness from those elections.

In plain English, a “no” vote keeps redistricting tied to the census and a bipartisan redistricting commission.

Voting “yes” allows the gun-controllers to redistrict as they please, and their plan is to give themselves all but one of the Virginia seats in the House of Representatives.

4. WITH GUN BAN ON THE WAY, BUY LOCAL, IF POSSIBLE, TO SUPPORT OUR GUN DEALERS!

Virginia gun dealers are going to take it on the chin if the Governor signs some of the gun-control bills on her desk. For many dealers, semi-automatic firearms that have been classified as “assault firearms” make up 30% of their business and that revenue will be gone! Insurance rates will likely increase due to the new law that allows frivolous lawsuits again the gun industry.

So, whenever you have a chance to do so, buy from your local Virginia gun stores. Guns, ammunition, and accoutrements. We need to help them survive what is probably coming their way.

5. TWO GUN DISTRIBUTORS TURNING THEIR BACK ON VIRGINIA GUN OWNERS

Two Virginia gun distributors told a Virginia gun dealer that they are refusing to do business in Virginia because of our “changing political landscape.” Those businesses are Century Arms, which has already stopped doing business here, and Childers Guns, which said they will stop on July 1.

This, of course, is exactly what the gun-controllers in the General Assembly are hoping will happen. Their goal is complete civilian disarmament and making guns and accessories unavailable due to the threat of frivolous lawsuits is one of their angles of attack.

Once we get the frivolous lawsuit law overturned, I will not be buying anything from Century Arms or from Childers Guns if they start distributing back into Virginia. With fair-weather friends like that, who needs enemies?

7. GUN CONTROLLERS AGAIN SHOWING THEIR DISCONNECTION FROM REALITY

An alien, who is a convicted felon, gets a firearm, with an obliterated serial number, illegally from someone who had previously been charged with illegally selling guns. 

So, what does the WTOP article say the problem is? Universal Background Checks (UBCs) not being performed in Virginia because the law was overturned by a judge!

Sure, someone who illegally removes a serial number from a gun and illegally resells that gun to a felon, would have taken the firearm to a gun dealer for a background check if only the UBC law was still in effect!  That is the idiotic conclusion of gun controllers in this article.

Jay Jones, our Attorney General who fantasizes about killing his opponents and watching their children die, blames the situation on Jason Miyares for not appealing the judge’s ruling!

I was reading an article from Wavy TV about the Islamic terrorist attack at ODU and the use of the phrase "on-campus shooting" caught my eye. 

The button to offer a correction also caught my eye and I responded saying this is terrorism and they should report it as such. 

Perhaps we can put a call out to the membership to actively engage in calling out the media's spin on this and the other terrorist actions that have happened recently. 

Calling it an on-campus shooting instead of terrorism makes it seem like the gun is the problem and not the fact that a terrorist was let out of jail early and a guy who stole a gun and should have also been in jail sold it to him.

8. VCDL QUOTED IN THE TRACE ARTICLE ON VIRGINIA GUN CONTROL BILLS

I was interviewed by The Trace reporter Jennifer Mascia on the gun-control bills that passed out of the General Assembly. I realize The Trace is connected to Michael Bloomberg, but as long as I am quoted correctly, I am willing to talk to anyone in the media. Sadly, a woman was stabbed to death in Fairfax County at a bus stop by someone who shouldn’t have even been in the United States. It does not appear she was armed.

Philip, I always enjoy the articles in The Defender. However, as a former federal agent, Virginia armed private investigator (PSO qualified), and current NRA pistol instructor (Basic, Personal Protection in the Home, and Personal Protection Outside the Home) I felt this author buried the lead which is: the average police gunfight is 2 shots in less than 2 seconds at a distance of less than two yards. 2-2-2 is easy for people to comprehend vs the overly complicated story presented. As any special operator will tell you, it’s not technique that wins, it’s speed and violence.
