1. Another Commonwealth Attorney Says "Assault Firearm" Ban and Carry Prohibition Will Not Be Enforced in His Jurisdiction
The Scott County Commonwealth Attorney, Kyle Kilgore, and the County Sheriff, Jeff B. Edds, in a joint statement said that they will not be prosecuting/enforcing violations of the unconstitutional “assault firearm” ban and carry prohibition! Statement: https://x.com/delterrykilgore/status/2057588830018928686/photo/1
Here is the current list of Commonwealth Attorneys who are honoring their oath of office to protect the good people in their jurisdictions from unconstitutional infringements on their right to keep and bear arms. Remember them when they are up for reelection:
- Phillip Blevins, Smyth County
- Rob Cerullo, Powhatan County
- Justin L. Griffith, Pulaski County
- Kyle Kilgore, Scott County
- Ryan Mehaffey, Spotsylvania County
Hats off to all of them for believing their oath means something and standing up for the good people of Virginia! They are refusing to enforce these laws that are clearly unconstitutional and serve only to harm law-abiding citizens.

2. Excellent Coverage of Virginia's Article 1, Section 13 RKBA Amendment
Firearm attorney Mark Smith (Four Boxes Diner) discusses the history of Article 1, Section 13 and why he is optimistic that the Virginia Supreme Court will strike down Virginia’s new “assault firearm” ban and carry prohibitions:
3. RRPC VCDL Benefit A Success and a Ton of Fun!
The weather for Saturday’s Rivanna Rifle and Pistol Club steel match to benefit VCDL held up nicely. We got some drizzle every now and then, but for the most part the day was overcast, but nice!
The event raised $1,620 for VCDL! Many thanks to the leadership of Rivanna for doing this!
If you’ve never been there, it is a great range, with both indoor and outdoor ranges.
There were 45 shooters there that day. I was proud to have come in 4th in my class (Pistol Caliber Carbine) on the 4th stage. As usual, there were some incredibly good competitors and I had no illusion of coming in first on any stage, much less in the full competition. But it was an absolute blast!
I was using my new Sig P365-Flux (https://www.sigsauer.com/p365-flux.html), which is really the most compact PDW that I have seen. It is also my favorite gun to shoot. It ran like a top and gave me a reload right on the front of the pistol, providing up to 50+1 rounds if you have two 25-round magazines in the gun. If you’ve been wanting one of those, like I was, you had best get it NOW, before July 1.
Here are videos of someone shooting each of the four stages:

4. Help Needed: VCDL Table at Middletown Firearms on June 27, "Communist Countdown Day"
Middletown Firearms (https://middletownfirearms.com) is hosting a “Communist Countdown Day” at their store on Saturday, June 27th, from 9am to 6pm and VCDL needs a few volunteers to staff our table at this event.
Come out and have fun while you support VCDL, Middletown Firearms and local businesses! Risen Holsters, Animal Firearms, and Appalachian Gunwerks will be attending as vendors along with other local companies.
Hamburgers, hotdogs, brisket etc. will be free for volunteers.
Location:
Middletown Firearms
7609 Main Street
Middletown, VA 22645
Middletown Firearms specifically invited VCDL to this event and we need volunteers to staff a table for VCDL.

5. Founding Father's Note on What the Loss of the 2A Would Mean
Thanks to member John D. for pointing out this important quote from the video in item #2, above.
Founding Father St. George Tucker said that the right of self-defense is the palladium of liberty and, “The right of self-defense is the first law of nature; in most governments, it has been the study of rulers to confine this right within the narrowest limits possible. Whenever standing armies are kept up, and the right of the people to keep and bear arms is, under any color or pretext whatsoever, prohibited, liberty, if not already annihilated, is on the brink of destruction.”
Gun rights organizations have been screaming that message for years: once the government takes away your right to keep and bear arms, your other rights and your very freedom will be lost.
6. Second Amendment Sanctuary Update
VCDL was unaware of these two resolutions/statements. Please keep in mind that YOU are VCDL’s eyes and ears in your local community. If something like your locality reaffirming it is a Second Amendment Sanctuary happens and you don’t let me know (president@vcdl.org), then as far as VCDL is concerned, it didn’t happen! Many thanks to member Brady L. for getting me information on both of these items.
Carroll County
On March 9, 2026, the Carroll County Board of Supervisors reaffirmed their 2019 Second Amendment Sanctuary.

Carroll County Sheriff
Back on February 17, 2026, the Carroll County Sheriff, Kevin A. Kemp, said this on Facebook:
“As the elected constitutional Sheriff of Carroll County, I unequivocally support and will defend the constitutional rights of our citizens, including their Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms. The people of Carroll County elected me in 2019 and again in 2023 on these foundational principles. I remain steadfast in my oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and I will continue to stand firm in that commitment as your Sheriff.”
(Another example of why I think most of Virginia sheriffs are second to none.)

8. FBI Active Shooter Reports Undercount ARmed Citizens Who Stop Attacks
Certainly, gun owners have been extremely disappointed in the FBI ignoring or downplaying the importance of armed citizens in stopping attacks on the public. The mainstream media summarily ignores any such incidents, so many people have no idea just have prevalent such things are in reality.
I hope the FBI turns this situation around soon.

9. What to Do About Fake AI Information About Guns on YouTube
Member Clark W. sent me this:
Somewhere on the page of every YouTube video (location varies depending on exactly how you're viewing it), there's a "report" button.
Videos can be reported for:
• misleading/spam
• false information
among other things. If the video is found to violate YouTube policy, it can be taken down. If a channel posts enough videos that are reported in violation of policy, YouTube says they'll remove the channel.
My point is that if enough people (who might also happen to be members of VCDL, GOA, and the like) report this kind of stuff, it can disappear, at least for a while.
I don't KNOW, but I suspect that actors who post this kind of fake stuff might just use new identities/credentials to re-post it, if it gets taken down; but people like us can at least make it more difficult for them.
I sometimes read a sampling of the comments on fake videos. Some commenters are buying the malarkey. Taking into account that some of the comments may be fakes/plants themselves, there must still be a certain percentage of actual people who think this kind of crap is real and could get themselves into trouble by believing it.
I'm just saying that I think people like us ought to be the truth-tellers here, doing what we can to keep the record straight. If it were up to me, I'd encourage the memberships of groups like ours to report these fake videos when we find them.
I agree and, thus, I am doing so now…
