The King William County Board of Supervisors is looking at reaffirming the Second Amendment Sanctuary status in January.

3. DISAPPOINTING COMMENTS FROM HENRICO POLICE CHIEF

At an event in Henrico County titled “Know your rights,” the Henrico Police Chief, Col. Eric D. English, actually implied that you shouldn’t exercise your right to keep and bear arms:

“Responding to an audience member who asked for clarification on gun-permitting, English told the audience that possessing a gun makes people more of a target when stopped by police. English told a father to weigh the safety benefits and risks of gun ownership with a child at home.”

WTH, Chief? Did Michael Bloomberg hire you? What other civil rights are your officers going to target citizens for exercising? Are you unaware that they make these things called “gun safes,” where you can store your gun, making it inaccessible to those not authorized to possess it?

4. HELP NEEDED: RICHMOND GUN SHOW ON JANUARY 1OtH & 11TH

VCDL MEMBER-VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED AT THE RICHMOND GUN SHOW - January 10 & 11, 2026

The next gun show will be January 10th & 11th at the Richmond International Raceway, 600 E Laburnum Ave, Richmond, VA 23222. This is the last scheduled gun show of the year at the Raceway. 

If you are unfamiliar with the location, you can find it easily on google maps or at the link below.

As before, VCDL will have a booth at this event, and we need member-volunteers to talk about protecting and defending our right to defend ourselves.

5. Doj Civil rights division suing states with laws that infringe on the 21

The new Second Amendment Rights Division of the Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division has started suing states and territories for violating the gun rights of citizens.

Yes, VCDL will reach out to them if any unconstitutional gun control is passed in Virginia in 2026.

6. jlarc:  nine virginia localities account for half of virginia's shootings

A Joint Legislative Audit and Review Commission (JLARC) report showed that overall, violence through the misuse of firearms dropped 20% in the Commonwealth from 2020 to 2024. But Richmond City, with all of its “gun-free zones” dropped only 9%. City Council just doesn’t like listening to logic and reason, when they have a civilian disarmament agenda to push.

And Newport News, which stopped allowing CHP holders to carry in their otherwise “gun-free zones,” actually saw an increase of 18%! Again, when will they ever learn? CHP holders are an asset, not a liability.

When a mass shooting starts, the longer it takes to stop the murderer(s), the more victims there will be. That’s why gun-free zones are so dangerous. Armed citizens who are present when a mass shooting starts can often stop the killing spree quickly, saving lives. As was this case in Illinois. Both killers were shot by a CHP holder, killing one:
