1. VCDL VIRTUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING THIS SUNDAY, 4/12/26
VCDL will have its monthly virtual membership meeting this Sunday, April 12, at 8pm. We will have a guest who is running against Mark Warner in November – Mark Moran.
Moran is a Democrat and is unabashedly pro-gun. Of course, that means he isn’t popular with the Democrat Party Leadership and their civilian disarmament agenda. So, Moran is running as an independent. Moran and I had a meeting last week to talk about his position on firearms. He said as soon as he is sent his VCDL survey, he will fill it out and return it.
This would be a good opportunity to ask Mark Moran questions on firearms.
We will also be discussing the gun-bills signed or modified by the Governor.
Here are the links to attend the meeting. Questions can be asked in the chat:
2. VCDL REGULAR MEMBERSHIP MEETING IS IN LYNCHBURG ON 4/16/26
VCDL is going to have a regular membership meeting in Lynchburg this month!
Date: April 16
Time: 7pm
Location:
Madison Heights Community Center
424 Woodys Lake Rd
Madison Heights, VA 24572
The meeting is open to the public, so bring along friends and family!
Many thanks to Speaker Vance Wilkins for making the arrangements for this meeting!
3. Help Needed: MANASSAS GUN SHOW APRIL 17-19
VCDL still needs member-volunteers for the next April gun show. The show is being held at:
Manassas Mall (formerly At Home Store / JC Penney)
8358 Sudley Rd.
Manassas, VA 20190
Now is the time to get involved. Remember 2020! Remember 2026!
(By the way, the “Assault Weapons Ban” bill that is sitting on the Governor’s desk becomes law July 1, 2026, unless she vetoes it.)
Volunteer now to get your shift of choice.
As a volunteer for at least one full shift at this show, you will get free admission for that day.
There are a limited number of inside table positions.
The show is for VCDL members to volunteer. Unlike Lobby Day, children, friends, visiting guests, older parents, and grandparents cannot be brought along, as we are limited in the number of passes that can be requested. Thank you for understanding.

4. REMINDER: U.S. LAWSHIELD OFFERS SPECIAL VALUE TO VCDL MEMBERS!
U.S. LawShield has been a great partner with VCDL for years now.

5. MIDWAY USA LETTING VIRGINIA GUN OWNERS KNOW IT WON'T BE ABLE TO SHIP 16+ MAGAZINES AND MOST SEMI-AUTOMATIC RIFLES, PISTOLS, AND HANDGUNS TO VIRGINIA AFTER 6/15/26
I don’t blame them for this, as they are merely following the law effective on July 1, assuming the Governor doesn’t veto the AWB bills.
I’m sure we will be seeing similar messages from other firearm-related companies.
VCDL will be fighting to get an injunction to prevent the AWB law from going into effect, but if you want more magazines and guns, this would be a great time to buy them – check your local gun stores first before going to the national ones.
Here is what Midway is sending to Virginia customers (including me):
Due to pending legislation, effective June 15 we will no longer be able to ship magazines with a capacity over 15 rounds, and most semi-automatic rifles, pistols, and shotguns, to the state of Virginia. Please place any orders for these products prior to June 15 to ensure we can still legally ship them to you.
We're sorry for the inconvenience,
MidwayUSA Customer Service
6. ACTIVE-DUTY MILITARY TO BE ABLE TO CARRY FIREARMS FOR SELF-DEFENSE ON POST!
This is great news! Finally, personnel on post can be protected by carrying a self-defense firearm. Hopefully this will get extended at some point to include retired military and maybe even regular citizens.

7. ARMED AMERICAN RADIO CARRYING VCDL ADS AND VCDL PRESIDENT TO BE ON SUNDAY SHOW
VCDL has ads running on Mark Walter’s Armed American Radio. I will be a guest on his Sunday show at 8pm.

I was also on the show earlier today. Here is a link to listen to that interview:
8. ORIGIN SHOOTING'S VCDL-BENEFIT MATCH WAS A SUCCESS - MORE VCDL-BENEFIT EVENTS BEING CONSIDERED
Around 70 shooters turned out on a rainy Sunday to enter a shooting match with a donation going to VCDL. It was a 4-stage match, with around 200 steel targets! I went through around 230 rounds. There were Texas Stars, Dueling Trees, Poppers, and more!
I knew I wasn’t going to win, but I had a blast losing to some of the nicest people you could hope to meet.
The president of Origin Shooting (https://originshooting.com/), who put on the match, said he is looking to do more VCDL-benefit matches around the state to help defray the cost of litigation.
I’m looking forward to these fun matches, that serve such a great purpose!
