MAJOR BREAKING NEWS! A COMPLETE STATEWIDE TEMPORARY INJUNCTION ON THE "ASSAULT FIREARM" BAN AND CARRY PROHIBITION IS COMING ON JULY 21!

Washington County Circuit Court Judge Campbell is updating his temporary injunction, extending who is being enjoined from enforcing the “assault firearm” ban and carry prohibition to include all law enforcement in the Commonwealth!

To allow time for all law enforcement agencies to be properly notified of this injunction, he is delaying the start date until July 21.

After July 21, the new AWB law won’t be an impediment to the sales of “assault firearms” and magazines that hold more than 15 rounds, as the various lawsuits work their way through the legal system. That said, for firearm sales, it will be up to individual FFLs to decide if they will be selling “assault firearms” during the temporary injunction. [R1]

VCDL believes that the ban will be struck down permanently as unconstitutional once it is finally adjudicated, but life will go on normally as we wait that final determination.

IMPORTANT NOTE: there is still an unresolved issue that could affect all of this – Jay Jones has filed an emergency appeal to the Virginia Supreme Court, asking the Court to put a stay on the GOA/VCDL injunction. We don’t know when that appeal will be decided.
