3. two republican commonwealth's attorneys are joining "two bullets" jay jones' effort to undermine the awb lawsuits! wth?
Yesterday, Virginia “Attoney” General "two bullets" Jay Jones filed an application at the Supreme Court of Virginia asking for consolidation of several lawsuits, including VCDL's, which were filed in state courts to block the unconstitutional bans on commonly held firearms and standard-capacity magazines.
That may not be too surprising, as Jones probably wants to improve his chances of getting a friendly judge, while any one of the four (or possibly more pending) circuits could have enjoined the unconstitutional law.
What is surprising is that two supposedly "Republican" Commonwealth's Attorneys (who were named as defendants in one of the lawsuits) signed on as "Applicants" joining Jones' effort: Ross Spicer of Frederick County and Krystyn Reid of York County.
Also signing onto the application was Erin Barr, the Chesterfield County Commonwealth's Attorney, an "Independent" who narrowly defeated Republican Stacey Davenport in 2023 (50.81%- 48.73%), and Matt Hamel, Commonwealth Attorney of the City of Chesapeake (D).
If you live in Frederick or York Counties, please let your Commonwealth Attorney know that you don't appreciate them siding with the Democrats in trying to strip away our rights!
