URGENT: Help VCDL get this important letter
into the hands of local law enforcement!
Today, VCDL and GOA issued an open letter to all Virginia law enforcement officers and officials, advising law enforcement not to take any actions to enforce Universal Background Checks, in direct contravention of a state court order enjoining such enforcement. Enforcing UBCs – when a court has ordered that the statute not be enforced – could cause law enforcement officers to lose their qualified immunity protections, making them personally liable for damages in civil lawsuits.
A-Tony General Jay Jones may think that he is above the law, but VCDL and GOA’s letter recommends that Virginia’s law enforcement refuse the AG’s invitation to play fast and loose with Virginians’ constitutional rights.
