I got the following email from a member showing the pattern of hiding Eileen Filler-Corn's anti-gun credentials:
-
Philip,
Thanks for sending this information out. I am in the 41st, and I actually had a good talk with one of Filler-Corn's canvassers who came to my door yesterday. After he introduced himself I neutrally asked, "what is her position on the gun-related bills in Richmond right now?" Maybe he had seen the NRA Life Member decal on my truck, but he quickly went to explain that:
1. He is from Springfield, MA and canvasses professionally. (Why do I want someone from Mass. helping me decide to vote?)
2. He wouldn't be here if she were in support of gun control. He said his father worked for Springfield Arms for 20+ years.
3. He said Eileen Filler-Corn's husband owns guns in the home, and stated she is pro-2nd Amendment. [PVC: Of course anti-gun Senator Chuck Schumer from New York claims to support the 2nd Amendment - it just means something very different to him than it does to you or me.]
I asked him if this was the case, why didn't she respond to the VCDL survey? Being from Massachusetts, he had no idea what VCDL is. He said he was meeting Eileen later in the day, and wrote down VCDL's website stating he would bring it up with her.
He seemed like a nice enough guy, but it only adds to the concern that the anti-gun pays hired guns to lie about her stance on guns.
All the best,
Mike

In case you wonder where Filler-Corn is getting her money to run, here is a list of donors. Of particular note, the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence donated $1,000 to her.
