South Dakota Senator John Thune's amendment to the defense authorization bill, which requires inter-state recognition of concealed carry licenses, is causing a furor among the antis.
Anti-gun activists with family links to Virginia Tech, arrogantly presuming to speak for the entire community by calling themselves "the Virginia Tech Families," published a notice in the Richmond Times-Dispatch today asking Senators Warner and Webb to not support the amendment. Turns out that New York Mayor Bloomberg is behind that effort. Gee, what a surprise.
New York Senator Chuck Schumer must be really having an Excedrin headache about now. He has vowed to filibuster the amendment. Hmmm - he does have the ability to talk for a long time and say nothing, so that might be a real threat.
We need to make sure their anti-gun/anti-self-defense message is drowned out.
