1.  York County looking at banning all rifle discharge

York County is looking at changing their ordinances to ban discharge of firearms and air guns in some more subdivisions:

Winterfield
Lakes at Dare
Wythe Creek Farms
Sherwood Forest [doesn't affect bows and arrows, so Robin Hood is OK ;-)] and
Carriage Homes at Williamsburg Commons

Discharge of air guns, and not firearms, would be banned at Overlook Point.

The County is also considering a ban on discharge of rifles countywide, except for firing ranges and target ranges, police, self-defense, managed hunts to control deer, and to kill dangerous or destructive wild animals. The rifles that are affected are .22s, as they are the only caliber that can be discharged in the County under current ordinances.

It's not clear when this issue will come up for a vote, but those of you in York County should contact your supervisor NOW and urge them not to further restrict the discharge of rifles.
