1. VCDL sending thousands of postcards to Senator Warner, Governor McDonnell, and others at Chantilly gun show!
*****************************************

At the Chantilly gun show this weekend, VCDL has 4 sets of postcards going to:

* Senator Warner, urging him to reject all gun control
* Congressman Cantor, urging him to show that he is pro-gun by working to stop all gun control
* Governor McDonnell, urging him to push for giving teachers, faculty, and CHP holders the right to carry on school property
* Delegate (and Lt. Gov. candidate) Lingamfelter, urging him to work to get bills passed giving teachers, faculty, and CHP holders the right to carry on school property

There is no charge, just sign each card and VCDL will stamp and mail them.

So, if you are at the gun show, come by the booth to sign those cards and bring as many people as you can with you.

If you wish to donate to cover the cost, that will be gratefully accepted, but not necessary at all.

2. Here she comes: Senator Feinstein's bill will restrict and register your guns - including handguns
*****************************************

Senator Feinstein's new "assault weapon" bill is much worse than the original bill back in 1993. But, I must say that I'm glad she's overreaching and pushing for massive gun control. That only makes her real agenda clear and passage of such a bill that much more remote.

But, even so, we had best fight that bill like there's no tomorrow and not let it pass in any form!

One real danger is weak-kneed legislators (or even some national gun organizations) supporting a "compromise." If this bill were to pass in any form, the damage to all of our gun rights and other liberties will be severe.

Tyrants everywhere are smiling at hypocrite Feinstein, who had no problems carrying a concealed gun in San Francisco when SHE felt threatened. I am so tired of elitists, they truly disgust me.

Here is a description of the bill. Take a deep breath before reading this atrocity, I guarantee you are not going to believe what's she is trying to do to this country.

3. Chantilly Show Protesters evicted for trespassing

Code Pink showed up to protest gun ownership and were kicked off the private property where the Chantilly gun show is being held. Here is some news coverage of the gun show:

4. New York newspaper puts up interactive map with exact address of CHP holders

Forget that some CHP holders are under severe threat of being murdered. Nah, it is more important to intimidate gun owners than to worry about them being murdered.

This is reminiscent of what the Roanoke Times did years ago, but the New York paper added the map feature. Shameful.

Note that the Gannet CEO is right here in Virginia!

6. Five reasons to have normal capacity magazines vs sub-capacity (10-rounder or less)
*****************************************

(NOTE: It is important that WE frame the debate correctly. Normal capacity is greater than 10 rounds and sub-capacity or low-capacity is 10 rounds or less.)

Another monster that was walking amongst us. Our condolences to the families of those firefighters who were murdered or hurt. The dead killer is probably seeing a whole lot of flames himself about this time and nobody will come to put them out.

9. Writing letters and emails - keep them short and to the point
*****************************************

As we approach the legislative season here in Virginia, you'll probably find yourself writing letters and sending emails to legislators, newspapers, or even to me.

Remember what Ben Franklin said: "I'd have written you a shorter letter, but I didn't have the time!"

It is up to the writer to make his writing concise for the reader. Don't make him dig through a whole bunch of irrelevant junk to find that gold nugget you want to share with him.

Don't put anything that is not important to your message. If you are telling somebody that you paid $2.95 for gas, they really don't care what color your car is, whether it is a full moon, or if you waved at your neighbor on the way to the gas station.

Bottom line: If you send someone a two page letter, it's not going to get read, just skimmed, IF you are lucky. If you can't make a point in just a few short paragraphs, then you need to keep trying. Do it right and you'll create something that will be read, understood, and appreciated.
