As is visible in the above photo, the room was full to capacity as hundreds turned out for one of the largest VCDL meetings ever held at the Mason District Government Center in Annandale even after Fairfax County officials, led by Supervisor Penelope Gross, tried at the last minute to derail the event. The fire marshall was in attendance to enforce the occupancy limits, but long after the room was full VCDL members continued to arrive, congregating peacefully outside and listening through the open windows. 
VCDL Vice-President Jim Snyder had ordered the cakes for the event and they were truly masterpieces! 
There were only a few protestors outside the meeting in an area that had been designated by the police. Most of them seemed to have prepared extensively for the event by bringing a few file folders and markers from work and scribbling furiously before taking up station. 
Of the two guns being given away, only one was on display. What a beauty! 
Also making a presentation at the meeting was VCDL's own Andrew Dysart who founded GMU Students For Concealed Carry after the tragedy at Virginia Tech. Go get 'em Andrew! 
And, as always, VCDL President Philip Van Cleave was everywhere, giving interviews at the speed of light and still getting back inside in time to get the meeting started.
